Black Friday Haul 2013

Ok, call me crazy, but I love Black Friday. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those nutters in line at the actual store. I’m the nut that has deal alerts on the things I already want, and am waiting for sales to actually go live on the internetz. And guess what? Many of them already are! I started my Black Friday shopping Monday night.

So, here’s a round up of what I’ve bought so far, and what I’m planning on getting. I’ll update it as the sales progress. Continue reading

My First StitchFix // November Subscription Box Review

Stitch Fix Box
Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links, but my opinions are my own, and I paid for this box.

After receiving a gift code to Stitch Fix in my PopSugar Must Have Box, I figured I might as well try the service out! So that’s just what I did and put the code to use towards my first Stitch Fix box. I scheduled that for the beginning of this month, and it arrived right on time.

It’s a super fun concept for those that love new clothes but don’t always love dealing with the crowds at the mall. Basically, you allow one of their stylists to pick out 5 items to send to you for a $20 styling fee.

You then get to try those items on in the comfort of your own home, decide what you like (or don’t like), re-package it up, and mail it back. Then, with the items you decide to keep, you check out online and receive $20 of the styling fee that you pay when scheduling towards your purchase. If you keep nothing, the experience costs your styling fee ($20).

You can sign up for Stitch Fix on a monthly, or on an needs basis. There’s nothing to cancel if you don’t like it, which is great!

Recipe: Gluten Free Carrot Cake Muffins

In celebration of all things fall + orange… and last week’s National Dessert Day (better late than never, right?), I thought I’d post my favorite carrot cake recipe.

I went gluten free for a month as a New Years resolution earlier this year, and I made this GF cake for us while we were avoiding glutinous flour. I’m sure you can sub out the almond flour + the Bob’s Red Mill flour for standard flour if you’d like, but I haven’t tried it so no promises!

happy monday! weekend recap

hello!

this weekend was spent catching up around the house, and doing a lot of not-fun chores.

we did, however, take rigby to marymoor park to test out his ‘off-leash’ skills… or lack thereof. sadly, it was the latter, and we learned we have a lot more training to do.

yes, we were those owners. yelling desperately for their shiba, whilst rigby ran around making snark face and probably thinking ‘na na can’t catch me!’ oh puppies.
