How to Wear Overalls

Affiliate Links // Some items in this outfit were provided c/o the brand. All opinions are my own.

When I saw overalls trending again last spring, I immediately was thrown back into my childhood. I remember multiple pairs of overalls over the years that I wore to death. Overalls are like jumpsuits, only better because they actually have a fairly quick and easy way to get out of them when nature calls. I’m sure if you’re an avid jumpsuit or romper wearer, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

One New Way to Wear Leggings as Pants

Affiliate Links // Some items in this outfit were received c/o the brand and are labeled as such.

Wait, what? Yes, you read that correctly. I decided to take a stab at wearing leggings as pants. Now, I’m not advocating you run around in the thin leggings you can find for a couple of bucks at your local mall. The leggings I’m talking about are almost pants. A Ponte knit pant if you will. And these, I believe, can be transitioned from your fall and winter sweater’s favorite partner into something a little more warm weather appropriate.

Dressing for Those Rainy Spring Days

Affiliate Links // Some items in this post were provided courtesy of the brand are labeled as c/o.

Do you ever get all dressed up, then look outside only to realize it’s since started pouring down rain? That’s exactly what happened a few weeks ago when I was getting ready for a bridal shower, and a blogger get-together. With plans like that, I had to reach a certain level of dressed up, and the weather was just not cooperating.

When the weather turns rapidly, the internal struggle starts. Will I look silly if I wear this outfit outside in the rain? Is this even practical? There’s a certain point in the year where tights become obsolete in my wardrobe, and I just grin and bear it. With my tights already packed away for next year’s fall and winter, this was one of those days.

Stitch Fix May 2016

Affiliate Links // I pay for this subscription.

As it heats up here in Seattle, it feels like summer is most definitely on its way. That’s exactly why I asked for a Stitch Fix this month that would be perfect for the heat. I know I’ve mentioned this several times now (sorry, not trying to humble brag, I promise!) but I’m leaving for Vegas the week after next, and I’ve been looking for some easy to travel with pieces that are appropriate for warm weather.

I’m sure you know the drill by now, but if you’re new to my blog or Stitch Fix, it’s a clothing styling service that you can set up to receive monthly, or at your leisure. You are charged $20 as a styling fee that you can put towards anything you keep from your Fix. You can plan to receive five items – typically four clothing items and one accessory (jewelry or bags, typically).

Stitch Fix May 2016 Review

And, if you missed my review last month, then you may not know that Stitch Fix is now sending shoes! Be sure to update your profile with your shoe size if you haven’t already. If you aren’t aboard the Stitch Fix train yet, now’s a good time to be, especially if you’re in the market for some cute new shoes! I received and kept a darling pair from MIA Shoes (similar style) last month (which I’m wearing right now, actually!) and received a cute pair of sandals this time around. Want to see what else I got? Then keep on reading!

How to Rock the Culotte Jumpsuit Outfit IRL

Affiliate Links // Some products were sent to me courtesy of the brand and are labeled as “c/o”.

As a petite person, I get a lot of interesting advice on how to dress. I’ve been told skinny jeans make me look like a lollipop. (This is probably somewhat true, but they also make me look much taller. I’ve heard that culottes (let alone a culotte jumpsuit outfit! The horror!) are the ultimate no-no because the awkward place they land on my calf will make me look short and wide. Oh, and that maxi dresses will never be the right length. Ever. (Which is just not true. I wear them all the time.) What I’m getting at here is that I’ve received a lot of crappy advice about how to dress, despite potential well-meaning intentions. I thought today I would break all the rules, because, well, I can.
