Affiliate Links: If you click a link below, I may receive small credit. I pay for this subscription.

So, I wasn’t planning on purchasing a tote from Golden Tote this month, but I did. I know, for shame. I was planning on being so good this month, but like always, clothes happened. Oops.

Anyways, if you’re new to Golden Tote, it’s a non-subscription mystery clothing grab bag. You pick 2 items for $149 and receive 4-5 bonus “surprise” items, or pick 1 item for $49 and receive 1-2 bonus “surprise” items. Each tote is curated by a stylist based on a style profile. Don’t like everything you receive? While you can’t return individual items, you can trade or sell them on the special trading group on Facebook. Don’t like anything? Send it all back for a refund.

So, what did I pick and receive in this month’s tote? Let’s check it out!

Favorite Neutral Makeup

It’s been a little while since I had a makeup post around here, so when my friend Meg from Meg O. on the Go mentioned sharing our favorite neutral makeup, I was totally in. So today, Meg, Becca, and I thought we’d share our 5 or so favorite neutral makeup items. It’s perfect timing, as back to school season is upon us and it seems like everyone is looking for that perfect neutral makeup no-makeup look. Plus if I’m completely honest, I’ve always been a neutrals girl. It’s only recently I’ve added any color to my eye looks. I think I had my fill of color after wearing too much blue eyeshadow in middle school. ;)

For those of you who aren’t into the video, that’s okay! I shot a couple of photos of my favorites, and will happily share my thoughts about each item and why it made the cut. I’m an equal opportunity blogger… I’ll write, photograph, or record for you. ;) Continue reading

Strawberry is the New Black

We’re taking an extended weekend to celebrate Labor Day a bit early with Dave’s family, so today I have a guest post from Sophia! Sophia is a freelance writer from Brisbane, Australia with huge interest in beauty, fashion, makeup and graphic design. She is also very passionate about organic cosmetic products, natural beauty, and could be described as fashion addict and life lover. She writes in mostly beauty related topics, mainly through blogs and articles. You can find her on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or Pinterest.

Shades of the red; so pretty in the summer. Long, cold and boring winter is far behind, coats and boots are thrown in the back of the closet, and swimsuits and flip-flops are once again our daily uniform. But to truly blend with hot sunny summer and enjoy it the way we are supposed to, we have to ditch dull dark colors that we put ourselves in for the past couple of months. Black, brown and gray are out, and strawberry red is in!

Pamper Yourself with a Massage from the Soothe App

Complimentary Service: A massage was provided from the Soothe app in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own, of course!

Are you a massage fan? What a silly question. Who doesn’t like a massage?! Sitting all day at a computer, then coming home from work and sitting some more while I catch up on blog tasks does a number on my neck, shoulders and back. Usually, a massage are just a treat, but lately I’ve felt like it should be something that I get more regularly to treat some neck and lower back pain I have. Not to mention, there’s something about a massage that resets your mind and your mood.

Soothe App: Massage on Demand Now in Seattle! // hellorigby seattle beauty blog

Pamper Yourself with a Massage from the Soothe App

That’s why when I was contacted by Soothe app about their service launching in Seattle, I couldn’t wait to check it out. The cool thing about Soothe is that it’s like the Uber of massage. (And if you’re not familiar with Uber comparison, it’s just a service on demand. In this case, it’s massage therapists on demand.) Gone is the days of calling a spa or your local massage parlor, just open the Soothe app and schedule an appointment for later that same day, the next day, or weeks in advance.

Graphics & Fringe

Product Sample: A complimentary tank top was provided to me in exchange for this styling & review. Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

Something I love about other fashion blogs is finding inspiration. Something I hate? How rarely it seems that the same piece ever is styled again in a new way. Have you noticed that? To be fair, I know I’m guilty of this too. With a sometimes overwhelming closet, a higher budget than what is average, and the fact that I don’t post a new outfit every day, I could probably go awhile before actually repeating a major piece in an outfit. When Legit Tees offered to send me a few tanks to style a few months ago (last seen here), I thought it would be a fun challenge to share how to wear graphic tees in different outfits.
