Local Last Minute Mother’s Day Finds

Product Discount/Sample: Discounts and samples were provided to me by Seattle Premium Outlets for attending this event. Affiliate Links: If you click a link below, I may make a very small commission.

Am I the only one that procrastinates on purchasing gifts for their parents? Because the older I’ve gotten, the harder it has been to shop for them. (Sorry, Mom!) Really though, they have everything they need, and for the most part just buy things when they want to. Puts a lot of pressure on me to find just the right gift, so lately I’ve gone the boring route and suggested a dinner or lunch out.

Clarins Skin Care at Seattle Premium Outlets during the Indulge Event / hellorigby seattle beauty blog

That only can happen so often, so I set off to the Seattle Premium Outlets this weekend to check out the Indulge Event and see what the outlets had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised; there were a lot of the stereotypical sets of lotions and skin care (which yes, I do like, but often is one of those gifts that my Mom doesn’t always) but a lot of unique ideas too.

Beauty Empties: April Edition

Affiliate Links: If you click a link below I may make a very small commission. I paid for all of these products.

I’m not that creative. These Beauty Empties or “Trash Talk” posts are nothing new in the beauty community. However, there’s nothing like a review on a product that someone has used up, right? I figured I’d share some of the things that I’ve made it through over the last couple of months!

And speaking of beauty products… if you’re in the market for some new ones but want to score a deal, I just wrote a guest post over at Dear Friends blog all about it! From swapping to buying used (yes, really) I think I have a few ideas to make sure you’re not overpaying for beauty products, from drugstore to high end. Check it out here!

Jumpsuits are the New Maxi Dress

Product Sample: Complimentary shoes were provided to me in exchange for this styling and review. Affiliate Links: If you click a link below I may make a very small commission.

While I’m no competition for some of the gorgeous (and wacky) gowns from last night’s Met Gala, I’d have to say that I was pretty pleased with my first black jumpsuit outfit. As a vertically challenged and short-waisted person, it’s been difficult to find one that worked. Many that I loved were to hit the waistline of a normal person or were just far too long. It’s one of those things that if I had loved it enough, I probably could have had it taken in by a tailor. But, then I’d have to find a tailor and hope they didn’t screw it up. Though if anyone has a recommendation for one in the greater Seattle area maybe I’d consider this more often. ;)

Black Jumpsuit, Floral Heels and White Blazer Outfit / hellorigby seattle fashion blog

I picked this jumpsuit up last month from Sears of all places, and I’m now obsessed. It’s so comfortable, and the elasticized ankles make it work for petite or average heights alike. Personally I’m not a huge fan of showing off the elastic part, so I pull it up and fold over the extra material. Pulling it up a little higher also allows me to show off these fun Steve Madden Marlinn heels from Rack Room Shoes. To contrast the amount of black, I grabbed my trusty white knit blazer I bought in high school (yes, really) from Forever 21.

How to Groom a Difficult Dog

Product Sample: A complimentary brush was provided to me from Chewy in exchange for this review.

I don’t know about your pet, but mine is a nightmare. Well, when it comes to grooming at least. How to groom a difficult dog like Rigby has been a challenge, and I’ve spent the past two years trying to figure it out. With many epic fails under my belt, I think I’ve finally figured most of it out. It may not be perfect, but these tips keep us both sane and, for the most part, happy, throughout the grooming process.
