The One Thing that Transformed My Skin This Spring

It’s no secret that I’ve struggled with dry skin. Some people get patches on their hands or face during winter that clear when the weather gets warmer, and some people, like me, suffer off and on all year long with itchy, tight, dry skin on their face and other places on their body. Not only do I suffer from dry skin, but I have sensitive skin and am prone to patches of eczema. The struggle is real.

How to Combat Dry Skin

I sound like a real winner, don’t I?! ;) While it may seem like my skin looks bad, it usually doesn’t. For me, my dry skin is more of a sensation; I often feel itchiness and notice flakiness when scratched that is enough to drive anyone a little bit crazy. All this to say, this spring I finally found a product that transformed my dry skin, and I can’t wait to share more about the transformation I’ve seen over the past three months of using the Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer!

Well, it’s officially music festival season! Looking outside and seeing raindrops on the sidewalks and windows doesn’t make it feel very much like it here in Seattle, but I’ll just pretend I’m in the California sun. ;) While I’ve never been to Coachella, I have definitely embraced some of the festival vibes of our local music scene. From Folklife to Sasquatch and Hempfest, Seattle and Eastern Washington has a music scene and lifestyle all it’s own. And fashion is most definitely an integral part of it, which is why you always need to have some good festival outfit ideas up your sleeve!

Skincare Routine for Itchy Dry Skin

Spring has officially sprung, and for me that means it’s time to take a look in both my wardrobe and beauty routine and make a few changes. One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is the need for proper skin care routine! As a dry skin girl, this is something that is incredibly important for me, and falling off the wagon of properly moisturizing and exfoliating my skin can be a critical error. After all, who doesn’t want their skin to look silky smooth in a new spring dress?!

It can be easy to start a new skincare routine, but sticking to it long enough to see results? Not always the easiest. I know I have a bad habit of going to bed with makeup on every once in awhile or breezing through my skincare in the shower and skipping a few steps when I’m in a rush. For me, however, consistency is key and when I stick to a new routine that’s working, I’m always much happier with the results.

So how do I stick to a new skincare routine and make sure that it’s working for me? My primary motivation is often seeing the results and knowing that it’s working!

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer // Worth the Hype?

When it comes to splurging, if I had to choose, my favorite splurges are typically beauty products. How can you say no to the pretty colors in a new eyeshadow palette or the thrill trying on a new lipstick brings? Maybe it’s just me, but beauty products make me happy. It’s the same reason that when Dyson announced their new Supersonic Hair Dryer, I was more than intrigued.

As for splurging on beauty tools, I’ll be honest and say it’s not something I frequently do. It’s unusual for a beauty tool to wear out (which is most definitely a good thing!). So when a new one comes out, it’s often easy to pass on upgrading until my current tools give up the good fight and go to wherever dead hot tools go, especially if the price is a bit steep. And to be fair, the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer had that warning flag. It’s not “budget-friendly” at $400. So is it worth the hype?
