Adventures in Summer Thrift Shopping with Value Village // #FindtheFind

August kicked off with a heat wave here in the Pacific Northwest, which made me crave the lightest sundresses, hats, and bright colors to keep me feeling somewhat cool. Honestly though, with a lack of AC, it was just plain hot! Multiple days of temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s were a bit of a shock to my system, to say the least. I found myself running out of dresses and tops to wear that weren’t double lined or some sort of polyester blend as the days went by. So what’s a girl to do when you need new clothing fast and on a budget? Go thrift shopping, of course!

It just so happened that around that time Value Village reached out to me to work on a sponsored post, see my last post this past spring, and I knew this would be the perfect fit! So off I went to Value Village, also known as Savers or Unique Thrift depending on where you are located, in search of a few pieces that might hold me through the hot weather.

Casual Summer Outfit Ideas with Kohl’s

When summer arrives in Seattle, the city comes alive. Summer festivals, warm sun, beautiful blooms, cute and casual summer outfits, the fresh breeze off of Puget Sound and the hustle and bustle of tourists and locals enjoying the outdoors is hard to beat. I swear the sunny weather melts away the “Seattle Freeze” and reminds us why we love our city so much.

A Seattle activity I can’t resist come summertime is the allure of the visiting carnival. Almost every suburb of Seattle has their own celebration, featuring carnival rides, food vendors, local artisans, and musical performances. My friend Megan and I ventured north of the city to enjoy an evening at the fair.

Bright flashing lights, colorful rides, and the sweet smells of elephant ears, strawberry shortcake, and cotton candy filled the air as we walked through the carnival. I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of this cute little striped long blazer and coordinating striped shorts from the LC Lauren Conrad line at Kohl’s. A Coca-Cola Graphic Tee was the perfect pop of color, and of course, I couldn’t forget to grab a bottle of the real thing to sip on!

Anyone else finding themselves right in the midst of wedding season? At this age, many of our friends and family members have already tied the knot, but every summer we find ourselves attending at least a wedding or two. With that comes the struggle of how to dress for a wedding.

This summer, for instance, two of Dave’s cousins are getting married to their longtime partners and we couldn’t be happier for them! But, as always when weddings come up, my mind immediately goes to what I will wear. Anyone else?!

Red, White, and Blue Outfits for the Stylish Girl

Happy 4th of July week! I can’t believe the holiday is nearly upon us. Before everyone heads out to celebrate with friends and family, I wanted to share some ideas for red, white, and blue outfits, whether you love being patriotic or it’s not really your thing. Flag tees, in my opinion, should be a thing of the past, and instead, I encourage you to take a stylish twist this holiday by incorporating your favorite color, whether it’s red, white, or blue into your outfit!

Disclosure: Thanks to PrettyLittleThing for sending me complimentary clothing to style in these outfits. All opinions are my own!

Stripes, plaid, polka dots, solids, oh my! The choice is yours when it comes to what pattern, if any, to choose for the holiday. You can go subtle, or go bold. I opted to take two extremes – an outfit that to me, literally screams patriotism, and one that is more subtle and can be worn any day! Just add patriotic accessories, or not, and go!

Read on for more about my two red, white, and blue outfits!

Traveling to San Francisco with Stitch Fix

Last week, I hopped on a plane and spent a few days in San Francisco. It was my first time in SF, and I honestly was so excited to visit the city. For years I’ve wanted to visit the Bay Area, but for whatever reason, I always ended up in SoCal instead. Conveniently, I was invited to attend Pinterest’s first-ever creator conference called in the making. Even better? I was going to be flying down with my bag mostly packed thanks to Stitch Fix, who provided the clothes for my trip!

Stitch Fix Review // What I Wore in San Francisco + Outfit Ideas!Disclosure: This post has been created in partnership with Stitch Fix. They provided me credit to purchase items in my Fix. Additionally, the links in this post are affiliate links which means if you schedule a Fix, I will earn a small commission. Thanks so much for your support!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might recall seeing my Stories where I was packing my bags for the trip. Documenting the packing process was a lot of fun, especially since it’s often something I struggle with. A lot of you let me know that you struggle with packing – either overpacking or waiting until the last minute, too! I usually end up with too many outfit ideas, and so my suitcase often is overflowing. Yep, I’m that girl that has to sit on it to get it shut.

Fortunately, this time around, starting with my pieces in my Fix cut down on my packing time by half. And I wasn’t tempted to overpack. Since I was pulling together looks based on key pieces I was sent, I had more than enough outfits (about 5). I knew I could also mix and match pieces if I changed my mind while there, too. If you’re jumping on a plane or traveling soon, I can’t recommend this method enough. Even better, when you sign up for a Stitch Fix by June 30th, and you’ll be entered to win a 10-item Fix PLUS a trip for you and your BFF here!

So what the heck did Stitch Fix send me? Read on to find out!
