Eek. It’s happening. Our renovation on our condo is finally underway. As you’re reading this, someone is demolishing our living room and gutting our kitchen.

Just kidding. They’re just painting, but it feels like more than that. We had to move our entire living room, dining room, and kitchen into our office and bedroom, so I am typing from the comforts of our bed. Keeping it real, guys.

Plaid, Fur, and a Giveaway!

Happy New Year! I’m excited 2015 is here. So far this year will be bringing us many changes. We’ve just started our remodel, I’m traveling out of the country next week, and who knows what else is going to happen!

We played it low-key and went over to Dave’s Aunt’s house to eat fried chicken from Ezell’s and celebrate with family. I mean, if eating good food and being entertained by a 2-year-old is how I’ll spend my year, I guess I’ll take it. ;)

What I Read: December & Giveaway

I mentioned on my accomplishments post earlier this week about completing my reading goal for 2014 of 100 books… so I guess it’s about time I recap the last chunk (and I do mean chunk… I read/listened to a lot this month!) of books I read/listened to in December.

What I Read: December / hellorigby!

Pretty Little Liars: Wicked (#5), Killer (#6), Heartless (#7), and Wanted (#8) by Sara Shepard – ★★★ – I had forgotten that a few years ago I started this series and never completed it. I was shocked to see how many total books there are though. (16, really?!) Anyways, I liked the first 3 the best, and then after that these have been entertaining and quick reads, but not necessarily the most well-written books. I kind of equate these to the Princess Diaries, if you were ever into that series. They’re fun, short, and cute, but they get a little… worn with time if you know what I mean. I will finish off this series, I actually quite enjoy the audiobook version because I can read about one a day at work! Continue reading →

December Shopping Budget

So first of all, I’d like to say I’m really proud that I did not succumb to ALL of the pressure that was Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I did fail a little when it came to Green Monday (btw, when did that come about?!) And, I did pretty well with not buying myself too many things while Christmas shopping. However, I definitely still did splurge this month. Tis the season, or something.

Sephora: I saw this new Naked on the Run palette from Urban Decay and had to have it… mostly because it seems absolutely perfect to keep in my work bag. I love that it includes basically everything but foundation. Luckily Sephora sent VIBs a $20 gift card which made $34 much more palatable. See what I did there? ;) -$34

What I Accomplished in 2014 Link Up

It’s nice to be back to a semi-normal schedule today. As you may have noticed, I took a few days off last week to prepare and recover from Christmas festivities. We did four Christmases, and I hosted Christmas Brunch with my mom this year. Lots of good food and fun, but glad the planning is behind me now. Hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season!

It’s amazing to me that 2014 is coming to a close so soon. I feel like I say this every year, but I can’t believe it went by so quickly. That’s why I’m excited to look back at 2014 with Sarah today!
