Today’s the day! What day you ask? Well it’s finally my turn to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, of course!

I know, I know.

Yes, it’s true. Like every other blogger, their sister, Mom, AND grandma, I’m shopping the 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ve been shopping at Nordstrom since I was little. Once I graduated college and had more of an “adult” budget for shopping, I got wise and shopped for fall items in the middle of summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, too.

Fall happens to be my favorite season for fashion, so it’s no wonder I get a little excited about the sale. If you’ve been shopping the sale for a while, too, you’ll start to notice a pattern of brands and products that come back every year in new colors, washes, patterns, and textures. It’s a great time to stock up on the best Nordstrom Sale wardrobe basics, but I always look forward to finding those standout, colorful pieces that really make a statement in my fall wardrobe, too!

What month is it again? If it wasn’t for the streak of 80 degree days we’ve been having, you could tell me it was November, and I would probably believe you. I don’t think I’ve ever spent quite so much time at home than I have over the last five or so months! Because of that, I’m always looking for new, fun things to do at home, and recently reminded of building pillow forts as a child! I wondered, could I make a pillow fort for adults?!

Summertime Essentials for a Staycation at the Lake

As bloggers, we’ve all received these. Sometime, five a day, sometimes none. You know what I’m talking about… the infamous and ever ambiguous brand collaboration offer. And now you’re wondering how to reply to a brand collaboration email.

At first, you might feel your stomach drop, because it might be from a brand or company you’ve always wanted to work with as a blogger. And then, after you have read it, you might feel elated. Or, you might feel a pit in your stomach as you wonder what to do when a brand reaches out to you.

I remember the first email from a brand I got. I was so excited until I got to the bottom of the email, and there was still no mention of compensation. Not a free product sample, no gift card, and definitely no cash. I don’t know about you, but my go-to accessory over the past four months has been a reusable face mask. No longer is it just a “keys, phone, wallet” check when I leave the house, but now I’ve thrown “face mask” and “hand sanitizer” into the mix. My trips outside the home mostly consist of grocery store pickups, post office drop-offs, and occasionally seeing a friend or family member at a distance. As those outings increase over the next several months as things begin to open back up, my wardrobe of stylish face masks will be expanding to accommodate keeping those around me safe.

Just two weeks ago, the state of Washington officially mandated wearing a face covering or face mask when out in public spaces. The only exception would be when you can keep 6 feet of distance outdoors from people outside of your household, like when you walk in your neighborhood or visit a local park. And just this week, face masks or coverings are required in all businesses, and those businesses are able to refuse service if patrons aren’t wearing one.

On average, I’ve been using 2-3 reusable face masks during every outing for each errand. I find it’s just easier to have a few extra than to fuss with the same one for the duration of my trip away from home. Upon returning home, I pop them in the laundry hamper to wash with the rest of my laundry.
