There’s something nostalgic about Betsey Johnson to me. You see, almost 10 years ago, a girl was having a horrible time finding a prom dress. All the dresses she saw were too long, too sparkly, had too many sequins, or showed off too much of her “assets,” if you get my drift. And if you haven’t figured it out by now, that girl was me.

Finally, after many failed attempts at dress shopping, I stumbled into the Betsey Johnson store in Downtown Seattle, picked up two dresses, tried them on, and I fell in love with one of them. The only problem? The one I fell for was $450. Wayyy more than my Mom wanted to spend. But a few promises to work off my overspending and a lot of groveling later, it was on, and I had my dress.

Thrifted Cashmere & Blanket Scarves

Ever since picking up this boyfriend style sweater at Value Village,  I had been thinking about new ways to wear an oversized sweater. I thought to pack it for our chilly mountain trip to Snoqualmie would be a good time to pair it over a swing dress. Ironically, it didn’t end up being that cold while we were there, and shopping in this sweater became a little uncomfortable. But, I’ve been wearing it this week because our weather took a weird turn, and we’ve suddenly been hit with this breezy, rainy, and stormy weather.

Luckily, I get to get away from the weird weather this weekend as Sarah planned a girl’s trip to celebrate her 25th birthday! We’re off to Eastern Washington in search of some delicious wine and other fun adventures. I’m leaving the little dude at home with Dave, and I’m sure they will be lost without me. Or at the very least, Dave will be subsisting off of take out and probably spending a lot of time playing video games. Sigh.

Stitch Fix April 2015

I decided to start receiving Stitch Fixes back in February after seeing some really cute clothes people were receiving. To me, it seems like they’ve stepped up their game in terms of supporting different styles other than a lot of the “mom” type button ups, drapey knit tees, and cardigans I had been seeing over and over. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just wasn’t what I was looking for.

Since my last Fix was pretty successful, I figured I’d try another one. I learned from my last Fix that pinning directly from their Polyvore account as well as keeping my fashion board full of looks that I liked really helps. I also left a few suggestions this month for my stylist, Kimberly, on what I’d like to see. I asked for boyfriend jeans or deconstructed skinny jeans. While they do their best to accommodate, they don’t always have the inventory of every item you may see in your size, so she did her best.

Rigby Reviews: Orijen Treats & Kong Toys

Product Sample: Complimentary toys and treats were provided to me in exchange for this review from Chewy.

Hi guys! Rigby here. You may remember me, since this blog is named after me and all. I know it’s been awhile since I last pawed my woof out, but I’m still the king of this castle. Mom wasn’t paying attention and I got my paws back on her laptop so I could share something fun that Chewy.com sent for me to try out. It was so good, in fact, that I think you need to get both for my fellow doggies and kitties with bloggies: Orijen’s Freeze Dried Dog Treats (also for cats!) and the Kong On/Off Squeaker toy. Mom demanded I work for my food and play time, but it was more than worth it.

March Shopping & a DSLR Giveaway

Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

Another month has come and gone. March was full of a lot of ups and downs in my personal life, and I’m happy to report that it didn’t seem to affect my shopping in a negative way. I did buy a few things towards the end of the month, so hopefully April won’t be terrible… but with spring coming, I always find a few new trends I want to try, and it’s hard to resist the end of the month sales.

Anyways, onto what I got with my allotted budget ($175) this month!

March Shopping Budget & Haul - What I Bought / hellorigby seattle fashion and lifestyle blog

What I Bought

Sears: I bought a few things from Sears after seeing a fellow style blogger Instagram some items she was trying on there. I was shocked to see some cute pieces, including this jumpsuit. I have a few more items coming, but unfortunately they got broken into multiple shipments so I haven’t been able to try them yet. Hate when that happens! (-$22)
