Stitch Fix January 2016

Affiliate Links / I Bought It

Another year, another Stitch Fix?! Wow, that feels weird to say, I can’t believe it’s can you 2016! (Yeah, yeah I know, every year I think I’ve said that…) Of course, there’s nothing like kicking off the new year with a new piece (or several, if you count a few of the gems I picked up at Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale!) of clothing for your closet.

You may remember that my last Stitch Fix shipment didn’t go so well. Neither did the one before it. However, I received an email from the Stitch Fix Customer Service team offering to match me with a new stylist who may be better suited to my needs and asked me several detailed questions about what I was looking for. My new stylist definitely delivered!

For this Fix, I asked for a couple of party-appropriate dresses – one glitzy, and one that could be dressed up or down. I also had pinned a few pieces that I had seen on Stitch Fix’s blog and Pinterest boards and mentioned wanting a cozy turtleneck sweater. Curious what I ended up with? Read on!

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale 2015 Shopping Guide // What I Bought

Affiliate Links

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has been shopping up a storm post-Christmas? I have been very, very naughty. Of course, I can’t help but share that with you so that you don’t miss out on some of the great deals I’ve happened upon! The day after Christmas marked the start of Nordstrom’s Half Yearly Sale, and what a sale it is! I’ve found a ton of awesome items (and a few that didn’t work out for me, as usual).

I figured I’d try ’em all on in the comfort of my house and share my thoughts about each piece while you still have a couple of days left to get your orders in to score these items for up to 50% off! (Go go go if you like any of these, most of them are already limited in sizes and colors. Eek!)

What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

Affiliate Links / Product Sample

Happy Monday! I cannot believe Christmas is already over and the New Year is this week! It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the start of 2015.

With a few days left before the big New Years celebrations, I thought it would be fun to show two outfits perfect for your any type of party you may be attending, whether it’s casual or dressy. Personally I’ll be leaning towards the casual look this year as we don’t have big plans, just a night in with some take out. The holidays are my favorite time of year to dress up and bring out a little sparkle.

Brunching with Coors Peak

Affiliate Links

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to host a brunch on behalf of Coors Peak, a new gluten-free beer that’s currently being distributed here in the Seattle metro area as well as in Portland. Because I had wanted to get a bunch of Seattle bloggers together for a brunch anyway, this was the perfect opportunity to through a little pre-holiday get-together. Plus, it’s kind of hard to explain to friends and family why a brand wants to pay for our food and provide free beverages… #BloggerProblems.

National Ugly Sweater Day DIY

Product Sample

Happy National Ugly Sweater Day!

I was recently challenged by my friends at Value Village to create a DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater… and of course I couldn’t say no! I love DIY projects, even if I’m not necessarily the most skilled crafter in the world. The good thing about Ugly Christmas Sweaters? They’re not supposed to be perfect, so even if you do make a mistake, no one will know!

I thought I’d share my process for creating this silly, tacky Christmas sweater in honor of the holiday and in hopes of inspiring you to make your own! I mean, doesn’t everyone need an ugly Christmas sweater in their life?!
