Thrifted Cashmere & Blanket Scarves

Ever since picking up this boyfriend style sweater at Value Village,  I had been thinking about new ways to wear an oversized sweater. I thought to pack it for our chilly mountain trip to Snoqualmie would be a good time to pair it over a swing dress. Ironically, it didn’t end up being that cold while we were there, and shopping in this sweater became a little uncomfortable. But, I’ve been wearing it this week because our weather took a weird turn, and we’ve suddenly been hit with this breezy, rainy, and stormy weather.

Luckily, I get to get away from the weird weather this weekend as Sarah planned a girl’s trip to celebrate her 25th birthday! We’re off to Eastern Washington in search of some delicious wine and other fun adventures. I’m leaving the little dude at home with Dave, and I’m sure they will be lost without me. Or at the very least, Dave will be subsisting off of take out and probably spending a lot of time playing video games. Sigh.

Stitch Fix April 2015

I decided to start receiving Stitch Fixes back in February after seeing some really cute clothes people were receiving. To me, it seems like they’ve stepped up their game in terms of supporting different styles other than a lot of the “mom” type button ups, drapey knit tees, and cardigans I had been seeing over and over. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just wasn’t what I was looking for.

Since my last Fix was pretty successful, I figured I’d try another one. I learned from my last Fix that pinning directly from their Polyvore account as well as keeping my fashion board full of looks that I liked really helps. I also left a few suggestions this month for my stylist, Kimberly, on what I’d like to see. I asked for boyfriend jeans or deconstructed skinny jeans. While they do their best to accommodate, they don’t always have the inventory of every item you may see in your size, so she did her best.

March Shopping & a DSLR Giveaway

Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

Another month has come and gone. March was full of a lot of ups and downs in my personal life, and I’m happy to report that it didn’t seem to affect my shopping in a negative way. I did buy a few things towards the end of the month, so hopefully April won’t be terrible… but with spring coming, I always find a few new trends I want to try, and it’s hard to resist the end of the month sales.

Anyways, onto what I got with my allotted budget ($175) this month!

What I Bought

Sears: I bought a few things from Sears after seeing a fellow style blogger Instagram some items she was trying on there. I was shocked to see some cute pieces, including this jumpsuit. I have a few more items coming, but unfortunately they got broken into multiple shipments so I haven’t been able to try them yet. Hate when that happens! (-$22)

Running into Spring

Product Sample: Complimentary shoes  were provided to me in exchange for this review & styling. Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

This year I’ve been kind of addicted to adding sporty and athletic pieces into my wardrobe. No, I’m not talking about full on track suits. I’m talking about outfits with running shoes, jogger pants, and/or casual t-shirts. Something I hadn’t refreshed in a while was athletic shoes, as in, shoes made for exercise. Rack Room Shoes offered to hook me up with a new pair of my choice, and I fell hard for these Asics Gel Super J33. They’re bright, they’re patterned, and they’re incredibly flexible.

They’re especially convenient for those days when you have more to do than just go to work – like yesterday, when I had to hoof it from my office up the hill to the dentist. That was fun, not. Public Service Announcement: Don’t be dumb like me and avoid the dentist like the plague for 4 years. They scared me last time I was there with threats of wisdom teeth removal, but really I should have just dealt with it. Instead, I have my wisdom teeth still AND 2 new friends in the form of cavities. Awesome.

Pantone Spring Color Style Challenge

I’m a little excited about this outfit today. I may or may not have been planning it for over a month after Porch reached out to me to take part in their Pantone Style Challenge! You may remember Porch from when we started our condo remodel, which is still happening, by the way. Update soon! Anyways, of course, I said yes. I love a good challenge, and I’ve already been dying to start shopping for spring. This was just a great excuse to go on a mini shopping marathon.

The only unfortunate thing? I didn’t pick a very timely color. I think green would have been a little more appropriate on St. Patrick’s Day, but instead I’m currently rocking some shamrock nails. Just a little green is good enough for me.
