ClassPass Seattle Recap

You may remember that I was trying out ClassPass Seattle for the month of November in an attempt to quell my anxiety, as well as explore new workout options. I thought it was about time for an update.

ClassPass Seattle: A Recap & Update / hellorigby!

My main goal with working out was to see if it could help with anxiety. While I think it did, I wasn’t as consistent with it as I’d hoped. I didn’t vocalize a goal for myself, but I did want to try one new class a week, at minimum. I didn’t quite do that – life gets in the way sometimes. But I did try 3 new workouts, and found one that I really enjoyed which makes it worth it.  Continue reading

A Big Reveal… & Giveaway

No, I’m not pregnant. But I did change-up my hair a bit. If we’re being honest, this is my first time ever getting my hair colored in a salon, and I was so excited when SEVEN the Salon reached out to see if I’d be interested in trying something new with my hair and blogging about it. The last time I had my hair colored, it ended up being a disaster after it faded and basically was orange.

Disclosure: Hair services and products were received in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are my own!

I arrived at the Pacific Place location of SEVEN the Salon and instantly felt at ease. The hip salon offers robes to wear over your clothes to be sure you don’t get any hair gunk on them, complimentary beverage (they made me a Peppermint Mocha, yum!), and they spin tunes while you get your hair done. It’s a fun atmosphere, and different from most any salon I’ve ever been to.

Thrifty Thursday: Oversized Sweater Outfit

I’ve had so much fun thrift shopping the past few months with Seattle Goodwill. I’ve found some really great pieces (enough to make two oversized sweater outfits… my favorite fall staple!) that have incorporated well into my wardrobe, and I’ve rekindled my love of the thrift. Now, as much as I love a good thrift find… I’m sure you’ve been burned before. I know I have. And I almost got burned with something in this very outfit. Have you ever found the perfect vintage item only to get it home and realized… it’s not so perfect? Like maybe you get a certain pair of boots home and a certain liner falls out? Yeah that would never happen…

ClassPass Seattle… It’s here!

As you may remember, I’ve shared my anxiety struggles here before. It’s one of those things that comes in waves for me. Some days I will be totally fine, and other days I will really struggle with it and it will go on and on. It’s frustrating – I’m a control freak, and not being able to control my own emotions and thoughts is incredibly stressful, which really just makes it worse.

I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and asked for help. I asked to be put on medication to make me feel better. And you know what happened? I filled the prescription and was too terrified to take it because of the awful side effects. (Yeah, I know, ironic.) Suicidal thoughts? Increased anxiety? Yeah, no thank you. So I’ve discussed it with family and decided I’m going to seek “alternative” therapy first. My first attempt at that is upping my exercise. Endorphins from exercise make you feel good, and hopefully I can channel my thousand and one thoughts into burning calories instead.

Thrifty Thursday: Fall Uniform

I can’t believe it’s already September. But can I just say, I’m so excited to start wearing my fall uniform again? Seriously, I love nothing more than cozy sweaters, booties, and my skinny jeans. Expect to see a lot of that this season.

I could try to make up something to write in this space for you today, but I really don’t have the words. What I do have is this outfit. I can tell you about this outfit, so I will. Continue reading
