DIY Flapper Costume

Last week I started off the Halloween celebration with silly pet costumes. This week, it’s the humans turn with this DIY Flapper Costume! This isn’t your typical DIY costume… I’m not actually making anything, but I am DIY-ing this by skipping the packaged costumes! I’m keeping it budget-friendly at under $25 (below the average price of one of those lame-o pre-packaged versions.) The nice thing about the costumes I have planned? It’s likely you’ll already own a lot of the pieces I’m repurposing, and after Halloween you won’t have to dump the entire costume!

Shopping Guide: Adam Lippes for Target

Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

There seemed to be some interest around these collection reviews (remember my rundown of the LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection?) so I figured I’d give the Adam Lippes for Target Collection a shot too. I had stalked the lookbook on Refinery29 when it was released several months ago and lusted over several of the plaid pieces. The collection launched late last month, and I jumped online at midnight to see if I could nab a few pieces. Lots of crickets online with this collection… quite the opposite from my last run-in with Lilly Pulitzer x Target collaboration!

I digress. The point is, this collection had little fanfare. Apparently no one else has the same love of plaid that I do. Or maybe people are sick of Target’s designer collaborations. The world will never know. The Adam Lippes for Target collection also featured home goods, men’s clothing, and women’s clothing was available in regular or plus size. I stuck to just women’s clothing for this one, so onto what I picked up and what I thought!

Runway to Real Way: The Poncho

At the beginning of every fall season, there’s always one or two trends that I get super excited about after fashion week. This year, that was the poncho. Specifically, plaid and color blocked ponchos. Last year it was the blanket scarf. I’d argue that this year, it’s the blanket poncho. It’s going to be a thing, I’m telling ya. ;)

Juice Beauty Review & Giveaway

Product Sample: Skincare samples from Juice Beauty were provided to me in exchange for this honest review.

I am so excited to be talking about my experience with Juice Beauty today. Why, you ask? Because I love ALL of the products I’ve been trying for the past month from them. They reached out to me after I shared their Nutrient Moisturizer in the Whole Foods Beauty Travel Bag and asked if I’d be interested in trying more products. Of course, I said yes!

Let’s backtrack a bit. Last year I had the worst breakout I’ve ever had in my life. I wish I was exaggerating, but I’ve never had acne quite so terrible. I had one cystic zit that was so bad, whenever I turned my head I wanted to die. It was right where my jawline and neck met, so it was just incredibly uncomfortable. I tried to throw every potent product I owned at it, and it only made the situation worse. When I backed off and focused on hydration and gentle skincare, I found it really helped. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to put the best things possible on my face.

Juice Beauty Review: Skincare for Dry Skin // hellorigby seattle beauty blog

Juice Beauty Review

One of my big skin issues is dryness. I’m acne-prone, but dry. It makes it hard to find something that’s moisturizing enough without breaking me out. I’ve tried so many night creams that were hydrating enough and then broke me out terribly. Luckily with Juice Beauty Skincare, my skin feels nice and hydrated AND it hasn’t broken me out. Additionally, Juice Beauty uses natural, organic ingredients and is cruelty-free. Win-win-win-win!

Silly Halloween Costumes for Picky Pets & Giveaway

I don’t think it’s a secret that Rigby is a typical Shiba Inu. He’s full of attitude and finicky as all get out about nearly everything. Except food. He’s not very discerning about that… But clothes? You are kidding, right? The first time I tried to put clothing on him he was about 4 months old and it was one of the first times he’d ever copped an attitude with me. The next time I attempted it, he had wised up and was not shy about growling at me.

Halloween Costumes for Picky Pets

I did attempt a Halloween Costume with him last year. I found the cutest glow in the dark skull outfit at Target and thought Rigby might have changed his mind. Nope. He stood like a statue, and if I touched him he growled at me. And when I took it off, he wanted nothing to do with me. Point taken.
