I can remember digging through my mom’s special makeup box when I was little and pulling out all of the shimmery and sparkly shadows and falling in love with makeup. My admiration for makeup only grew as I got older. By 12, I was experimenting with all sorts of eyeshadow colors (especially blues, because blue eyes must wear blue eyeshadow right?) Luckily I’ve moved along from the blues obsession and now play with colors of all kind.

Fashion Diaries // Fashion First Seattle 2015

Last Friday some of us in the fashion community got extra dolled up to attend Seattle’s 12th annual Fashion First Seattle Fashion Show benefitting the Crescent Moon Foundation and the Inspire Youth Project. By the end of the night, over $100,000 was raised for charity! It was also fun to put several names to faces in real life and catch up with other blogger friends. And of course, see some great runway looks! The styles ranged from fall and winter wear to swimwear.

LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection: Shopping Guide & Try On

In all my posts on blogging, this is the first time I’ve ever purchased pieces from a collection and tried them on at home for the purpose of the blog. Well, let’s be honest, it’s mostly to quell my own curiosity. I don’t think it’s a big secret that I’m a fan of Lauren Conrad. And when it comes to fashion, I love her budget-friendly line at Kohl’s, LC Lauren Conrad. This year she showed her very first collection at New York Fashion Week and live streamed it on Periscope. Then immediately following the show, the collection was available for purchase at Kohls.com.

Obviously I jumped right on that, and my items arrived last week. I photographed me trying everything on this weekend and thought I’d give you my honest review and fit details on each piece I was interested in from the collection. With only a few days of summer left, I figured I’d better hurry up and share what skin and body care items I’ve loved this summer. I know in some areas, the summer climate (or what is similar to our summer climate in the Pacific Northwest) doesn’t ever truly end. We’ll be traveling to a couple of those places (Miami and Newport Beach) this fall, so I’ll be continuing using a lot of these items throughout the next couple of months to get wedding-guest-ready.
