White After Labor Day

Product Sample: Complimentary jewelry samples were provided to me in exchange for this styling. Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a small commission.

Do you subscribe to the idea that you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day? Honestly, I’ve neer been a big fan of this concept. I’m definitely not one to wear white on white outfits too often, however, if I decided I wanted to in October, why shouldn’t I?! Usually by October I’m living in skinny jeans, boots, flannels, and jackets with hoods to be fair. I mean, I do live in the nation’s supposedly rainy city. (It’s not. Mobile, Alabama gets more rain than Seattle!)

Stitch Fix September Review (& Giveaway)

Affiliate Links: If you click a link below, I may receive a credit if you sign up. I pay for this subscription.

I try to shoot to get a Stitch Fix every other month, however with two weddings in the next two months, I thought I’d schedule an extra one to see if they could help me out. I absolutely hate special occasion dress shopping. Is it just me or every time you have an event to attend suddenly no stores seem to have your size or any reasonable dress options?! I’ve had this happen with multiple weddings and Christmas parties and it never ceases to frustrate me.

Unfortunately for me, neither dress Stitch Fix sent this month worked out. In fact, I’d say this was my worst fix to date. I liked the idea of the items. However, the fit was terrible on every item I received. The saving grace was the necklace. I already own something almost identical, but lucky for you I still kept it so I wouldn’t lose the styling fee. One of you will be able to win it down below! ;)Stitch Fix September 2015 Review & Styling // hellorigby seattle fashion blog

What I’ve Bought, Read, & Used Up: August

Affiliate Links: If you click a link below, I may receive small commission.

I’m doing things a little differently this month. Instead of sharing an entire post about my budget, I thought I’d try out something new by combining a few of my “month’s end” posts into one. Let me know what you think of this new format, it’s been something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while.

Golden Tote August 2015

Affiliate Links: If you click a link below, I may receive small credit. I pay for this subscription.

So, I wasn’t planning on purchasing a tote from Golden Tote this month, but I did. I know, for shame. I was planning on being so good this month, but like always, clothes happened. Oops.

Anyways, if you’re new to Golden Tote, it’s a non-subscription mystery clothing grab bag. You pick 2 items for $149 and receive 4-5 bonus “surprise” items, or pick 1 item for $49 and receive 1-2 bonus “surprise” items. Each tote is curated by a stylist based on a style profile. Don’t like everything you receive? While you can’t return individual items, you can trade or sell them on the special trading group on Facebook. Don’t like anything? Send it all back for a refund.

So, what did I pick and receive in this month’s tote? Let’s check it out!

Graphics & Fringe

Product Sample: A complimentary tank top was provided to me in exchange for this styling & review. Affiliate Links: If you click on a link in this post, I may make a very small commission.

Something I love about other fashion blogs is finding inspiration. Something I hate? How rarely it seems that the same piece ever is styled again in a new way. Have you noticed that? To be fair, I know I’m guilty of this too. With a sometimes overwhelming closet, a higher budget than what is average, and the fact that I don’t post a new outfit every day, I could probably go awhile before actually repeating a major piece in an outfit. When Legit Tees offered to send me a few tanks to style a few months ago (last seen here), I thought it would be a fun challenge to share how to wear graphic tees in different outfits.
